Your team is nearing the completion of the project. Through this assignment, you should
demonstrate key knowledge areas of project management as listed in PMBOK. Working individually, the four individual submissions from your team members should complete all the tasks as listed below. There are four tasks in total. Each member of the team will complete one different task so that all the four tasks would be properly addressed within a team.
TASK 1 (for team member 1)

1. List out the local governments legal prerequisite for starting your engineering project.
2. What are the potential dangers of proceeding with a project that has no SMART objectives? Write three objectives of the project your team has been doing in for last 10 weeks. Your objectives must be based on SMART concept.
3. What is project network diagram? What are two methods of representing the network diagram? Draw the
network diagram for the following project case.
Show the task column and predecessors column of the project your team has been doing in for last 10 weeks as entered in MS PROJECT. The predecessors column should show at least three types of task relationships. Explain the logic for choosing S-S, F-F & S-F relationship between the tasks.
4. For project your team has been doing for the last 10 weeks, in the project review meeting on 15/04/2017 with the client, you as the project manager reported 50% completion of the project. The client wanted you to finished the project 5 days earlier than the original plan. Show the status of the project on 15/04/2017 in MS PROJECT. Include snapshot of tracking Gnatt, show snap shot of tracking table with base line and actual date. Also, include snapshot of crashed project showing the new finish date, tracking cost table. From the tracking cost table find out the cost of crashing for the crashed activities.
TASK 2 (For team member 2)
1. What is white card in Australia? Do you require white card for the project your team has been working for
last 10 weeks?
2. Explain the two approaches for developing the project budget? Discuss their advantages and disadvantages. Which approach you used for preparing budget of the project your team has been doing for last 10 weeks. Provide the details of your budget as per the approach you adopted.
3. What is critical path and its significance in a project. Draw the critical path for the following network
diagram (use forward pass and backward pass)
In MS PROJECT, show the critical path of the project your team has been doing for last 10 weeks. Explain it. Why the tasks on critical path has zero slack/float? Show the slack time/float for few activities outside the critical path.
4. For the project your team has been working on last 10 weeks, one of the work resource has two different cost rates for two different tasks assigned to the resource. Provide the snapshots of MS PROJECT showing two different rates for the resource. Also, provide the snapshot of MS PROJECT showing the cost of assigned tasks to the resource with different cost rates.
TASK 3 (For team member 3)
1. List down all the material resources of the project your team has been working for last 10 weeks. What are
the danger of handling these materials and how do you ensure safe handling of these materials?
2. What are risks in a project? How they can be characterized in a simplest of ways. Risks can be mitigated, transferred, accepted or avoided. For the project that your team has been working on for last 10 weeks, write the following

One risk to your project that can be transferred & how that risk can be transferred?
One risk to your project that can be accepted & why do you accept that risk?
One risk to your project that can be avoided & how that risk can be avoided?
3. What is resource over allocation in a project. In a project Maria has been assigned to tasks A to G. She cannot work more than 8 hrs a day. She must finish task A before starting any other task. The project manager has specified the dates by which she must finish each task. These dates are marked in RED. For example, activity A must finish by 5th may and B by 12th May and so on. Maria has planned her work as per the following table where against each activity she wrote numbers of hour she would be working for that activity. You as a project manager was not happy with Marias work plan and reconfigured her plan. Why did you reconfigure Marias work plan? Write the reconfigured work plan for Maria.
Provide the MS PROJECT resource sheet of the project your team has been working on for last 10 weeks. Which resources in the sheet are most susceptible to over allocation and why? Explain the techniques you would apply to resolve over allocation issue and how these techniques would affect your project end date.
4. For the project your team has been working for last 10 weeks, show the baseline cost of each task in MS PROJECT. Explain task cost and resource cost variance if any with the help of appropriate snapshot of MS PROJECT.
TASK 4 (For team member 4)
1. Explain project management iron triangle with respect to the project your team has been working on for
last 10 weeks. How change in (i) project cost & (ii) project time going to affect your project and why?
2. An accident has happened on the project site and one worker is injured. As the project manager, how you
handled this incident. Also, list out the steps taken to prevent such accidents in future.
