The Commercial Director would like to take its London Showroom events into a new international market. The British Fashion Council is now looking for a new market to showcase emerging British fashion talent in. Business Pitch (30% towards final grade%) A group 15 minute group presentation pitching the idea of launching London Showrooms event into your selected market to the Commercial Director. The pitch should include: – Identification of 1 new market for London Showrooms with justification for choice – Outline a proposal for the event that includes: SWOT of BFC and London Showroom events (LO1) Identified market for launch of the new London Showrooms event (LO2) Event theme/design Analysis of contemporary issue or barriers that may impact on success of the event and recommendations on how BFC address this, using qualitative and quantitative data (LO3) All decisions should be justified based on data analysis or the application of relevant theory or concepts. Event Brochure (70% towards final grade): Individual An individual written 2500 word brochure should reflect the British Fashion Councils London Showroom launch into a new overseas market. This may be used with prospective attendees, partners in the local market, sponsors and funding organisations. It is important that your brochure is properly structured. This is an academic paper, so you should draw on contemporary literature in support. The brochure should include: Organisations background including SWOT Analysis Relevance of the new London Showrooms event in identified market (market entry, STP, strategies etc.) (Porters five forces, PESTEL of the country/city) Detail of event theme/design Outline Marketing plan for launch (general marketing plan focusing on 5 Ps or for more marks with 7 Ps) It should demonstrate: Relevance to target audience and justification (Sociodemographic data and analysis of the target market and for more marks include Hofstede) Analysis of contemporary issues/ barriers (That may impact on the success of the event) Knowledge and application of relevant academic models and theories (LO4) Your brochure should include images, coloured background and references to the appropriate international event and marketing literature (textbooks, journals and websites). A minimum of 5 different academic references must be cited, but a well-researched report is likely to cite many more. About LONDON show ROOMS LONDON show ROOMS provides a unique opportunity for emerging British designers to promote themselves outside London. The pop-up showroom is a strategic element of the British Fashion Council’s support and mentoring scheme. The BFC launched LONDON show ROOMS in 2008, taking emerging talent to Paris during Paris Fashion Week to sell in a showroom environment. The initiative was an instant success and has grown season on season, supported by Sarah Mower, BFC Ambassador for Emerging Talent, who took the lead in galvanising high profile media LONDON SHOW ROOMS IN LOS ANGELES support for Londons hottest rising stars. In addition to Paris, LONDON show ROOMS now moves to different markets with carefully curated groups of designers ranging from emerging talent, to Londons New Establishment and guest designer brands. Designers are selected based on optimum opportunity to engage local media, retailers, stylists and the broader fashion communities in LA, New York and Hong Kong respectively. LONDON show ROOMS is supported by the European Regional Development Fund and UK Trade and Investment (that in London is partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund). In New York, it is held in partnership with the Centre for Fashion Enterprise, and in Hong Kong through the commercial sponsorship by Li & Fung. The project is co-directed by Anna Orsini and Barbara Grispini for the British Fashion Council with the support of the BFCs Ambassador for Emerging Talent, Sarah Mower.
