Using the library database, find 5 academic articles* that help to answer your research question.
One of the articles must cite the other (please review the video on the mechanics of the research conversation for more details). This will become relevant in part three.
For each article, write a short paragraph that
Introduces the article (title and author)
Summarizes the thesis statement/argument of the article in your own words with in-text citations as required (one sentence)
Explains how the article answers your research question (in 2-4 sentences)
An article is academic (or scholarly) if its been peer-reviewed or published in scholarly journal. You can find these articles using the COTR Library database or Google Scholar. However, not every article available through those sources are academic.

b) Briefly describes the academic conversation surrounding your topic, referring to the research you have completed thus far.
c) States how your research question will put you in a position to contribute meaningfully to the conversation (i.e. how your approach is different).
A paragraph that focuses on the article used for part two (the precis) and includes the following information:
d) An analysis and discussion of how the author uses sources to prove their argument. You need to provide specific examples, demonstrating your overall familiarity with and comprehension of the article and its argument.
e) An analysis and discussion of what the references to specific sources tells you about the specific academic conversation(s) that this article is contributing to.
f) What the use of sources and citations in this article tells you about the function of citations in developing an academic argument? Be specific and provide concrete examples that analyse and reference the use of sources in the article.
