The research was published in 2004. First steps of the research allowed 62 societies to be placed into 10 clusters. From the research Globe was also able to develop the theory Culturally endorsed leadership Global Leadership Dimensions. China is part of Confucian Asia. As part of the Globe research study one of the first questions addressed was which measurement strategy to use, in order to precisely monitor the similarities and differences across numerous societal and organisational cultures and compare them against other countries. They are six dimensions of leadership. Firstly, charismatic/ performance oriented style this style pressures high standards, innovation and decisiveness and aims encouraging specific behaviour in others by effective communication. This style helps to motivate followers to get things done in a specific way and accomplish goals, China scored 5.56 in this dimension. This is one of Chinas highest scores, this shows it is within the Chinese culture for people work closely together encouraging one another to create new ideas, and work towards a vision, and doing so strongly based upon core values. Within schools in China teachers work closely with students and help encourage create a vision and work together step by step to accomplish it. Moving on, the second dimension is team oriented this is ability to successfully build teams and implement a common purpose or goal among team members, this dimension highly values team cohesiveness. China scored 5.57 in this dimension this is Chinas strongest aspect, this shows in China schools teachers are focused on students building teams and meeting goals. Furthermore, the third dimension is participative, this dimension is to what level managers get input from others in decision making and implementations. China scored 5.04 in this dimension, this is a relatively high score and shows mangers in China encourage input in decision making. In addition, the fourth dimension which is humane oriented. This is defined as the degree to which leaders are supportive and considerate but also includes compassion and generosity by House et al (2014).China scored 5.19 in this dimension this shows within the Chinese culture they are supportive and are concerned with the well-being of each other. Furthermore, this also shows in the Chinese culture people care about the interests of others, this also shows people are motivated mainly by need for belonging and affiliation. The fifth dimension is autonomous, this is to the point which leaders are independent and individualistic, and China scored 4.07 in this dimension. This shows in China mangers are not very independent and like the help of others. Lastly, self-protective is the point to which leadership Focuses on making sure on the safety and security of the individual and group through status enhancement and face saving.
