Perform brief research on the Robinson-Patman Act of 1936 (USA law) and become acquainted with the basics of the law. Apply this law to a situation where your firm has discovered some essential cost information from a competitor in a specific geographic market. From this valuable commercial intelligence, you believe you can accurately estimate the break-even, pricing point of your competitor. Management of your firm also believes it can temporarily lower its prices (in just that specific geographic area) to a point just below your competitor’s break-even price point and effectively eliminate it as a meaningful competitor.

You have been provided with two areas in the course to discuss and collaborate: A group discussion forum and a wiki collaboration area. Only group members have access to these areas and will be able to see the discussion you have and the work you do within these areas. You are also free to use tools outside of the course, such as Google Docs, Yammer, etc. if your group chooses to do so.

Your final PowerPoint presentation is due in Unit 5. You will have the next 4 units to work together to create the PowerPoint. Once you’re finished everyone in your group must post a copy of the final presentation in the Group Activity Submission area in unit 5.

Your PowerPoint content should look professional. Check all content for grammar, spelling and to be sure that you have properly cited all resources (in APA format) used in the creation of the presentation.

Purdue University’s Online Writing LAB (OWL) is a free website that provides excellent information and resources for understanding and using the APA format and style. The OWL website can be accessed here: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/
