LISA

Bill Gates can effectively be put in the category of being a decisive leader with a passion which allows being open to learning regardless of the path he took. Even though Mr. Gates dropped out of Harvard and pursued his dream of building Microsoft up, he had enough intelligence and confidence in himself to go for it. What enabled him to be successful was through every failure he took that learning curve or mistake and turned it into a teaching mode to improve upon. While many may have regarded at the time his total lack of what would be considered the ultimate stupid decision dropping out of an elite college, he had enough ambition to see his goals and dreams accomplished. His leadership style is one that is empowering to those around him. I see him as a man of fairness, yet can give constructive criticism so that you yourself can learn from it. He is one who will listen to ideas, encourage the drive to see it finished, and be one who sees the future that the product has potential for. His sense of humor to even lighten a situation I think would provide those he leads with a feeling of being relaxed enough that whether it is positive or negative feedback, his laid back attitude would provide them with enough ambition to move on to the next step of what can be learned, improved on, or a green light of full speed ahead. Charisma is a big role in effective leadership. Bill Gates was able to think outside the box and go with his own way of doing what he had a passion for. But for any leader, you need to be able to relate to those under you in a way that they can believe that yes you do relate. If you can look out across a group of many different groups of personalities and reach them in a way that makes everyone feel as if on same page then you can have an impact. A leader needs to connect not just in his or her speech, but by non verbal ways also that reflect what you are saying also. Be the personality that whoever you may be speaking to it feels as you are speaking to them directly on a level that offers understanding and leadership at same time
