Project manager roles and responsibilities | NURSING | Chamberlain College of Nursing

  • Examine why is it important to identify stakeholders and the project team early on when undertaking a project.

Identifying and engaging the stakeholder’s influence in the decision-making process from the initial phase of any project is crucial for support and resource; they can be an effective participant sharing various expert ideas to attain a long-term sustainable and successful outcome. Therefore, trustworthiness, prioritization, and ongoing effective communication through face-to-face or virtual meetings or teleconference and feedback must be continuous throughout the end of the project.

  • Consider the organizational culture where you plan to implement your DNP project. Describe organizational cultural barriers that may be present that will need to be overcome for project success.

Organizational culture was most reported to influence the successful implementation of any project. In my establishment, the ethical culture of the baby boomers adapting to change is entirely different from the millennials. As a result, there is a lot of resistance to change from the boomers, while the millennials were very receptive to engaging in an innovative project. With effective collaboration and clear communication of project intent. I will develop a trusting relationship with the stakeholders and the interprofessional team for their valuable opinion, support, and resources to achieve a successful open innovation process and organizational goals.

  • For your DNP project, detail your implementation plan to include milestones.

For my DNP project, my focus is to educate, teach, and create social awareness through community programs and social media to reduce the long-term complication of diabetes. I will integrate two primary self-monitoring measures of blood glucose (SMBG) and develop a surveillance assessment tool through social media such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and histogram to monitor intervention effectiveness, including glycemic control. I will collaborate and advocate with the stakeholders, the elective government officials, and legislators to lobby for the inclusion in the decision-making of the health reform and increase funding for community health programs for the vulnerable population. I will initiate my pregnant patient education and teaching from the prenatal clinic through admission and discharge. This includes diet and exercise, lifestyle changes, monitoring blood sugar and glycemic level, following the physician recommendation, and dietician meal plan to prevent co-morbidity complications. The patient returns to the clinic at 6 to 12 weeks post-delivery and then follow-up every 1 to 3 years. I encourage my patient to engage themselves in the hospital’s modern technology of self-care management and the hospital portal for health information resources.
