This will be in 2 parts.
First part will be the written part (don’t freak out):
– 5-7 pages
– You will be given a product idea or industry- next class period- at random
Create a basic company! NAME IT! You can create a story behind it if you want.
– Here is what I am looking for:
– Tell me about the business plan- what would your objectives be? Talk about how the 5 external factors, that you have no control over, would effect your business in detail.
– What would your competition look like and how would you over come it? Keep in mind how much we’ve talked about product differentiation.
– Tell me about your marketing mix: product, price, promotion- one advertisement and one sales promotion, placement- both placement and distribution. Explain each one!
– Tell me about how your company would be set up. Franchise? S-corp? Corporation? Sole Proprietorship? Explain your set up.
– Tell me about your organizational structure- flat or tall?- draw it! Talk a little about your motivational strategies.
– Finally, talk about your financial situation; look at a company similar to ‘yours’ and see what their income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow sheets are showing for 2015, 2016. Talk about what you think, or hope, your company would be able to do financially and provide figures backing it up.
Second part is a 5-10 minute presentation (this will be timed):
– Choose your media: Power Point, video, diagram, spreadsheets, etc.
– Create a presentation for everyone explaining your company, a sales pitch, and product.
– The presentation will include: Your business plan, the set-up of your company, organizational structure, marketing mix, and financial statements.
We, as the rest of the class, will be acting as a board of directors/potential investors during your presentation. We will decide if we would potentially invest in your company/product.
Each person will be given 2 forms for fill out during the presentations. The form will have 3 questions on it: What company did you choose and why? Why will you invest? What is one thing you will change about the company or product in order to help them grow
