Weekly Written Assignment

Intervention Outline and Bibliography

Go to the Week 6 Written Assignment and read the Final Project details all the way through. You will be working toward finalizing this project throughout this course. The Organizational Change Intervention Project is a research study in which you study and observe an organization and plan a change project for the organization. This process will help you to understand how the organizational change process works and may help an organization to improve itself as the result of your efforts.

This week, submit a 1-page outline (350 words) of your final project. The outline should present a plan for project completion and should include:

  • The name of your selected organization
  • A brief description of the organization’s function
  • Your contact person and the leader of the organization
  • A schedule that indicates when you will visit and observe the organization (include proposed interview times)
  • An annotated bibliography, in APA format, which includes at least three annotated bibliographies for your research
  • Consider the logistics of the project as well as the availability of resources for successful completion of the project.

Create an annotated bibliography to go with your outline.

Creating an annotated bibliography requires you to apply a variety of intellectual skills: concise exposition, succinct analysis, and informed library research. Your first step is to locate books, periodicals, and documents that may contain information and ideas that are useful and relevant to your topic. The Rockies Library is a great place to find resources. After reviewing a broad range of materials, select those works that provide a variety of perspectives on your topic. Cite the book, article, or document using APA format. The Writing Center and RefWorks are good resources for compiling bibliographies. There is information on RefWorks in the Writing Center.

Finally, write a concise annotation (3-4 sentences) that summarizes the central theme and scope of the book or article. Be sure to include the following: (a) an evaluation of the authority and/or background of the author, (b) a comment on who the intended audience is and how effectively the author reached that audience, (c) a comparison of this work and another you have cited, also noting the differences in the materials, and (d) explain how this work illuminates your topic.

These resources will assist you in creating a bibliography.
